Roses of Jericho
Rose of Jericho, known also as resurrection plant, is a plant with a high resilience, you can cut it, throw it or dry it completely and it will still survive desiccation.
This plant is a prototype of what we wish to be - resilient;
In this piece there are 3 Roses of Jericho, that belong to my Grandpa. When I looked at those roses rising and opening up, they were strong, untouchable and almost royal. Once I flipped the video upside down, they suddenly looked like mute hands, trying to hold on to something beyond their reach. Like humans, opening their hands wide but able to absorb nothing.
